Fall/Winter L.A.M.B. at NY Fashion Week

Among the surprises in the MAC & Milk line up for fashion week unveiled today: London heavyweight Alexander McQueen will be showing his secondary line, Surf Lodge is opening a pop-up shop upstairs, and Richard Chai will be showing his menswear.

Of course the biggest news is McQ: After McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection was broadcast across the internet and his over-the-top, alien-looking platforms were obsessed over by the masses, it’s safe to say that getting the designer to show a collection here in the States is a massive get. Now, granted, McQ is his lower-priced. secondary line — which doubtless has a great retail appeal over here — which has already enjoyed the Target treatment, but still: This show will be one of the hottest tickets in town.

Patrick Ervell and Richard Chai (who’ll be showing his newly-launched menswear line) will also be joining some of the already-announced newcomers to MAC & Milk like Jeremy Scott and Peter Jensen. Most of the designers from last season’s roster will be returning for a second round — including Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. (Stefani will apparently be hosting a cocktail party, too), Vena Cava, Band of Outsiders, and Threeasfour. Montauk’s popular outpost, Surf Lodget, will also be setting up a pop-up shop upstairs with chef Sam Talbot, giving chilly editors a taste of the beach.

MAC is apparently also developing a special line of “backstage” products to be sold in conjunction with the MAC & Milk partnership: The 14 products will be available on MAC’s website from February 2-22.

EDIT: L.A.M.B. Presentation is set to be shown on February 11th between 3 and 5pm in Milk Studios.
